Blackheads are one of the features of acne. Although blackheads tend to be painless, they can be an ugly and unsightly addition to your face. Blackheads are caused by sebum, an oily substance secreted by your glands, that block up the pores. The sebum are open to the air and turn black when they are oxidized, which give them their name. There are many different ways by which you can rid your skin of blackheads.

Baking Soda Exfoliating Scrub

Exfoliating your skin can gently unplug your pores, and one of the easiest and most affordable ways to do this is by creating an exfoliating scrub out of baking soda. Mix some baking soda with enough water to make a paste. Apply the paste to your blackheads and gently rub in circles. Wash the paste from your face. Repeat this process a few times a week to help clear your face of blackheads.

Clay Mask

Clay masks do an excellent job at drawing the impurities out of your pores, removing the blackheads from your face. To get the best results, do a clay mask a few times a week. You will need to mix bentonite clay with water until it forms a thick paste. Spread the paste over your face, like a mask, and let it dry. You will feel your face tightening up as it dries. Once it has dried, remove it with water and pat your face dry.

Honey Pore Strip

You can create strips that you can apply to your face, let dry and then peel away. As you peel the strip away, it will force the blackheads out of your pores, and they will come out and end up on the strip instead of on your face. To make these strips, you will need milk, honey and a strip of cotton fabric. Mix together equal parts honey and milk. Heat the mixture in the microwave, and the stir. Wait until the mixture is at a temperature that won't burn you, and then place it over your blackheads. Gently pat the cotton strip on top of the mixture. Wait for the mixture to dry and then gently peel the cotton strip from your face. You should see your blackheads attached to the strip. Wash the area after you're done.

If you are suffering from blackheads, give one of these solutions a try. If you can't rid your face of blackheads on your own, you might want to consider contacting a dermatologist for more rigorous acne treatment.
